Back in May 2022 we were part of The Plant Clinic at the Chelsea Flower Show. We were invited by lovely Sarah (The Plant Rescuer) and Mark from Happy Houseplants, along with some other amazing small businesses like; Worcester Terrariums, Liquid Gold Leaf, Raft Furniture, Malvern Garden Buildings, Soltech Solutions, Sandy Bay London and Rosewood Living Walls.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of The Plant Clinic and the amazing team behind it. But to top it all off we walked away with a gold medal! Read more about The Plant Clinic below and check out our Video covering the event!
All too often houseplants are treated as disposable items, like a wilted bunch of flowers but they are alive and do so much for us, the least we can do is try our best to help them recover. The resurgence in popularity of houseplants is a sign that people want to be enchanted by nature again and make space for it in their lives. Buying a plant, swapping cuttings or sowing seeds – just to experience the magic of watching them grow – has become a priority in many people’s lives. Make room for plants, physically and mentally, show them kindness, engage your senses, learn what they love, and in return, they will show their gratitude by enriching your life. The Plant Clinic is an interactive space for people to learn how to care better for their plants.’
The Plant Clinic highlighted the key elements of plant care, along with demonstrating how to do so. Following these key steps will help you bring life back into plants that aren’t doing so well. Thus’ encouraging planty people to not throw away something that has potential.
The Plant Clinic included:
Steam Room: Tropical houseplants may prefer a more humid and consist environment - putting them into a glass cabinet or a Terrarium ca be beneficial.
Jacuzzi: Increases the oxygen level in the water, so it speeds up the propagation process.
Soil Bar: Bespoke potting mixes that are formulated to encourage root growth.
Juice Bar: Nutrients should be added to the soil to provide the plant with elements needed to create their own food.
Solarium: Giving your plant the right amount of light is one of the most important things you can do in terms of growing.
